PLOS BLOGS Speaking of Medicine and Health

This week in PLoS Medicine: the direct costs of antiretroviral treatment; antibiotics not effective in preventing preterm birth; global health delivery 2.0

Read the new papers published in PLoS Medicine this week, including two Research Articles – one describing the direct heath care costs in an HIV managed care program in Southern Africa and the second, based on a randomized trial in Malawi, that shows no benefit of azithromycin for a number of outcomes including preterm birth and prenatal death. Also published this week is a Health in Action piece that describes several simple Web 2.0 strategies implemented during the course of delivering medical and public health services in rural Nepal

You can comment on, annotate and rate this week’s PLoS Medicine articles and any of the others in the archive.
