This Week in PLoS Medicine: Snakebites in Sri Lanka; post-MDG global health agreements

This week in PLoS Medicine, two new articles were published on snakebite treatment and global health policy commitments:

In a factorial randomized trial conducted in Sri Lanka, Asita de Silva and colleagues evaluate the safety and efficacy of pretreatments intended to reduce the risk of serious reactions to antivenom following snakebite.

Lawrence Gostin and colleagues discuss their work on the Joint Action and Learning Initiative on National and Global Responsibilities for Health (JALI), which aims to secure a global health agreement (such as a Framework Convention on Global Health) that would inform post-Millennium Development Goal global health commitments.
