Meet PLoS at AIDS 2012, Washington D.C.

Cecy Marden Collections Conference news General Open Access

Last week PLoS Medicine published a new sponsored collection, Investigating the Impact of Treatment on New HIV Infections, which addresses the issues for evidence-informed policy that have been raised by studies showing that antiretroviral treatment reduces the risk of HIV transmission.  The collection prefigures one of the themes which will no doubt run through the 19th International AIDS Conference, AIDS 2012, which kicks off in Washington D.C. on Sunday 22nd July.

We are looking forward to seeing how the Call to Action for Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision for HIV Prevention session relates to the sponsored collection we published last November: Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision for HIV Prevention: The Cost, Impact, and Challenges of Accelerated Scale-Up in Southern and Eastern Africa.  If you want to find out more about the collections, and what PLoS journals have been doing in the arena of public health and HIV/AIDS, why not stop by and see us at our booth #137, Hall D.  I’ll be there with PLoS staff Erica Kritsberg and PLoS Medicine editor Dr. Emma Veitch throughout the week, and we’re looking forward to answering any and all questions about PLoS.
